Russian MP offers to lift moratorium on death penalty For the sake of sentencing the Azov fighters

The Russian State Duma member has offered to lift the moratorium on death penalty.

Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky has proposed via Telegram to lift the moratorium on the death penalty in Russia for the sake of sentencing the Azov fighters.

“If their terrible crimes against humanity are proven, I will reiterate my proposal to lift the moratorium on the death penalty in Russia and entitle the court to consider the possibility of applying supreme punishment!” Slutsky wrote while commenting on State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin’s statement on the ban on the exchange of Azov fighters for the detained Russian servicemen.
