"I have made the decision to step down as mayor of Batumi. It has been a great honour and a significant responsibility to lead the city. I want to thank the people of Batumi for their trust and support, and I also thank the team with whom I have worked for several years for the good of our city," Chikovani wrote on his Facebook page, as per Caliber.Az.
The politician also expressed special gratitude to the ruling party, Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia. "I, of course, remain a loyal member of this team," Chikovani concluded.
