Iran's top military chief declares Armed Forces at peak combat readiness
Iran's Armed Forces are currently at the peak of their operational and combat readiness, according to the country’s top military official, who issued a stern warning on Monday about any potential threat to the Islamic Republic.
Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, emphasised that both the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) naval units are fully prepared to counter any hostile actions, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
Baqeri made the statement during a visit to inspect the Army and IRGC naval forces stationed along the Persian Gulf and near the northern entrance of the Strait of Hormuz.
The visit also included senior military officials such as Iranian Army Chief Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi and IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami.
“We are in our best form in terms of combat capability and readiness,” Baqeri declared, adding, “Thank God, our Armed Forces are in the best situation regarding intelligence collection, operational planning, and readiness to implement scenarios.”
He cautioned any adversaries contemplating threats against the Islamic Republic, stating that any conflict initiated would be dictated by Iran. “You may initiate a conflict with the Islamic Republic based on a miscalculation, but the ending, manner, timing, location, and developments on the battleground will not be within your control. It will be the Islamic Republic of Iran that will determine them,” Baqeri warned.
He also noted that all operational plans had been thoroughly reviewed and verified during his inspection. Baqeri confirmed that Iran's forces were in optimal condition, excelling in training, manoeuvre execution, and psychological and operational preparedness.
“In case the enemies make a mistake, or intend to take action against the establishment and the sacred waters and soil of the Islamic Republic of Iran, our Armed Forces have the ability and readiness to confront them,” Baqeri concluded.
