Turkish specialists continue examining C-130 crash debris in Georgia
A team of specialists from Türkiye is continuing its work in Georgia, studying the wreckage of the C-130 military transport aircraft that crashed earlier this week, Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence confirmed.
Ankara had previously announced the deployment of a 46-member expert group to Georgia to conduct an in-depth investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy that claimed the lives of 20 servicemen, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The experts’ report from the crash site, together with the results of the black-box analysis, will make it possible to establish a full picture of the incident.
Turkish authorities have urged the public to rely solely on information provided by official institutions regarding the C-130 crash.
On November 11, 2025, a Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft crashed in Georgia while flying from Azerbaijan to Türkiye. The plane was carrying 20 members of the Turkish Armed Forces, including technical personnel, all of whom died in the accident.
The crash occurred in mountainous terrain near the town of Signagi. Prior to departure, the aircraft had remained at Ganja Airport in Azerbaijan for nearly two hours, and pre-flight inspections reported no technical issues.
Search and recovery units from Türkiye and Georgia were dispatched to the site, collecting debris and launching a joint investigation.
The cause of the crash remains unknown, with investigators examining possible technical failures, weather conditions, and other potential factors.
