Kazakh president begins state visit to Uzbekistan
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Uzbekistan for a state visit at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Mirziyoyev personally welcomed the Kazakh leader at Tashkent-Humo Airport — the first time the venue has been used for an official reception of a foreign head of state, Caliber.Az reports via Uzbek media.
Following the airport ceremony, the two presidents held a brief conversation focused on strengthening their countries’ strategic partnership and deepening allied cooperation.
The main program of the visit is scheduled for November 15, when high-level talks will be held alongside the second meeting of the Supreme Inter-State Council of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The summit is expected to conclude with the launch of major joint projects and the signing of a substantial package of bilateral agreements aimed at expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
