Satellite images of Iran’s reservoirs raise alarm PHOTO
Satellite imagery has recorded a significant decline in water levels across seven key reservoirs in Iran compared with the same period last year.
Several reservoirs — including those of the Rudbal Dam in Estahban (Fars), the Feriman Dam in Khorasan-e Razavi, and the Daneshmand Dam in Golestan — have completely dried up, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian Telegram channel.
Iran is facing its sixth consecutive year of drought. The water crisis now affects the entire country, not just the capital, Tehran. Only the Lar Dam near the city of Amol remains in relatively stable condition.
Overall, however, the nation is experiencing a sharp depletion of its water resources.
Experts warn that water reserves have reached a critical level, posing a serious threat to Iran’s future economic, social and environmental stability.
