Georgia to dissolve Anti-Corruption Bureau
17 November 2025 13:29
The Georgian government has announced plans to dissolve its Anti-Corruption Bureau, an agency established in 2022 following recommendations from the European Union.
Speaking to the media, Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili confirmed the move, saying the bureau would be formally abolished from March 2, 2026, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
Its responsibilities will be fully transferred to the State Audit Office.
“The initiative means that from March 2, the Anti-Corruption Bureau will cease to exist, with all its functions being assumed by the State Audit Office,” Papuashvili said at a briefing.
