Drone strike hits Russia’s Ryazan, fire erupts at oil refinery VIDEO
The Russian city of Ryazan is facing a significant drone attack, with local air defences responding to multiple incursions, according to reports from the region.
Eyewitnesses have described more than ten explosions near a local oil refinery, with videos showing flames, smoke, and fire lighting up the skyline, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
Local social media channels have urged residents to prioritise their safety, avoid filming air defence operations, and refrain from handling debris from downed drones, which authorities warn may be both explosive and toxic.
Pavel Malkov, governor of Ryazan Oblast, confirmed that 25 drones were destroyed overnight by air defence and electronic warfare systems.
He added that falling wreckage caused a fire at an industrial site, but preliminary reports suggest no injuries. Material damage is currently being assessed, with emergency services on site.
