Iranian FM: Uranium enrichment not happening due to damaged infrastructure
Iran is currently not engaging in the enrichment of uranium, stating that all of its related infrastructure has previously come under attack.
This position was expressed by the Islamic Republic's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media outlet Tasnim.
“There is no enrichment taking place on Iranian territory right now. All relevant facilities have been attacked,” Araghchi said.
The foreign minister also noted that there are no “undeclared [nuclear] sites” in Iran — the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is aware of all of them.
His statement follows the nuclear watchdog's assertion in their latest report, published this week, that it has not been able to verify Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium since Israel and the United States struck the country’s nuclear sites back in June.
