Ground collapse at Istanbul metro construction site traps workers

A ground collapse occurred at a metro construction site in Istanbul, leaving people trapped under debris, IHA reports.

The incident took place at the construction site of the Kabataş station, and rescue operations have been launched. It is reported that three workers managed to escape on their own, while two others were pulled out by rescuers.

The station, located on the shores of the Bosphorus, is scheduled to open in 2027. Construction has been progressing slowly due to numerous archaeological discoveries.
