Russian ship catches fire off the coast of South Korea Crew members injured
On March 26, a fire broke out on the Russian refrigerated vessel "Crystal Asia" off the coast of South Korea, 8 kilometers from the port of Gamcheon (Busan).
The fire resulted in injuries to six crew members, all Russian nationals, two of whom are reported to be in serious condition, Caliber.Az infroms, citing the Russian Embassy in South Korea.
According to the there were 23 crew members aboard the ship, with 22 being citizens of Russia. The injured sailors were immediately transported to medical facilities in Busan for treatment.
The "Crystal Asia," which is registered in Vladivostok, is owned by Trans Wind Fleet. The company confirmed that all crew members are alive, though it refrained from providing additional comments at this time.
The fire reportedly began in the engine room of the vessel. The 1993-built ship, which was constructed in Japan, was successfully towed to the port of Busan by South Korean rescuers.
