Russian strikes knock out Dnipro’s power, heating VIDEO
Ukrainian authorities report a total power outage in the city of Dnipro after Russian strikes targeted critical infrastructure and military sites.
According to local energy company DTEK, several precise hits in the Dnipro and Kamianske areas forced all thermal power plants and substations in the Dnipropetrovsk region to shut down.
Local media report that the city is now without electricity, heating, or water, with mobile and internet services also disrupted.
Public transport has been severely affected. The Dnipro metro has suspended operations entirely, while suburban trains across the region have also been halted. Some areas of Zaporizhzhia under Kyiv’s control are reported to be without power. Authorities have not provided a timeline for restoring services.
Earlier, on the evening of January 7, multiple explosions were reported in Kryvyi Rih, damaging several energy facilities and affecting the Kryvyi Rih Mining Equipment Plant.
The attacks represent the latest escalation in Russian strikes targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, raising concerns over winter utilities and civilian safety.
