Russian trade mission in Sweden hit by third drone attack in two months
The Russian Trade Mission in Sweden has been targeted in a drone attack for the third time in recent months, the Russian Embassy in Stockholm confirmed via its official Telegram channel.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on August 21, when an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) dropped a package containing paint onto the premises of the trade mission — a facility formally recognized as part of the Russian diplomatic presence in Sweden, Caliber.Az reports.
“In the early hours of August 21, 2025, the Russian Trade Mission in Sweden — an integral part of Russia’s diplomatic mission in the country — was once again targeted in a drone attack, during which a package filled with paint was dropped,” the embassy stated.
This marks the third such incident in recent weeks. Similar drone attacks were previously reported on June 17 and July 5, 2025. While no injuries have been reported in any of the cases, the Russian side has voiced growing concern over the apparent security breaches and what it considers a lack of adequate protection for its diplomatic institutions.
