Saudi FM announces coalition to advance Palestinian statehood, secure lasting peace
Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, announced the establishment of an international coalition aimed at creating a Palestinian state and implementing the two-state solution at a meeting in New York.
Prince Farhan Al Saud stated that the first meeting of this coalition will take place in Riyadh, Caliber.Az reports per Saudi media.
"On behalf of Arab and Islamic countries and our European partners, we announce the formation of an international coalition to implement the two-state solution... We will develop a practical plan to achieve our common goals for the desired peace," Faisal bin Farhan declared.
Faisal bin Farhan affirmed to make every effort to achieve a just and inclusive peace:
"We will make every effort to achieve a reliable and irreversible path to a just and comprehensive peace"
He further emphasised that the conflict in Gaza has led to a humanitarian catastrophe, alongside severe violations committed by Israeli forces in the West Bank, as well as threats to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic and Christian holy sites.
He accused Israel of numerous crimes in Gaza and asserted that the establishment of a state for Palestinians is "an inherent right."
Recently, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated that he would not establish diplomatic relations with Israel until a Palestinian state is created.
