Secretary of State: US, Middle East ready for peace in region
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said that the US and the Middle East are ready for establishing peace in the region.
Washington plans to use diplomacy to resolve the problem, Blinken wrote on X.
“I just wrapped a 10-stop trip that took us from Türkiye to Greece, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, the West Bank, Bahrain, and Egypt. So I wanted to take a moment to tell you about what I heard and we discussed,” he wrote.
“Across the region, I met with leaders who are prepared to take steps, to make commitments necessary both for Gaza’s future and for long-term peace and security in the region — a pathway that ensures Israel’s security and includes an independent Palestinian state,” Blinken wrote.
Moreover, the US Secretary of State published a video message in which he stated that the Middle Eastern countries see a path that can give Israel the security it needs and the Palestinians the state they deserve.
Blinken added that this path may unite the region and isolate players such as Iran and its proxies, namely, the Palestinian Hamas group, the Lebanese Hezbollah movement and the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
