Separatist Atanesyan: Dialogue can be held even in Yevlakh, just by trusting Azerbaijani side
If necessary, dialogue should be conducted even in Yevlakh. And if necessary, one should go alone, without any security guarantees, trusting the words of the Azerbaijani side.
Caliber.Az reports that Vahram Atanesyan, a former "member of parliament" of the illegal entity in Garabagh, made the remarks in an interview with the Armenian channel 1in.am.
"I am a sincere supporter of the dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert (Khankendi - ed.), and I consider the intervention of a third party ineffective. Because many times, when some agreements were reached with Azerbaijan through the commander of RPC, they were not fulfilled in the future. And in this case, if these people do not interfere openly in the situation, Gurgen Nersisyan's hopes for RPC Commander are incomprehensible to me," Vahram Atanesyan said.
He also added that there is an internationally recognised practice, and procedure. Azerbaijan has appointed a member of the Milli Mejlis as an authorized representative in the dialogue process with Garabagh Armenians.
"And who is this negotiator from Karabakh (Garabagh - ed.)? Who is this person, and what is this group that will talk to Azerbaijan? It is not known. In some circles, dialogue with Azerbaijan is seen as a betrayal, it limits and ties hands. If necessary, dialogue should take place even in Yevlakh. If necessary, one should go alone, without any security guarantees, trusting Azerbaijan's words," Atanesyan said.
