Shusha hosts Chinese delegation for energy innovation talks
On January 17, 2025, a delegation from Dongfang Electronics Corporation of China visited Shusha to observe the reconstruction efforts by Azerishiq in the recently liberated territories.
The visit included a group of nine individuals, including Shudong Cao, Deputy General Director of Dongfang Electronics Corporation (DEC); Wei Liu, Director of the Central Asia branch; and Dmitry Zharovsky, Advisor to the General Manager, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Other officials and representatives from Azerishiq also participated in the delegation.
During their visit to the Shusha Centre for Digital Electricity Grid Management, the delegation was provided with detailed information on the rapid reconstruction work, which was made possible with the support of the Azerbaijani government.
The discussions focused on sharing experiences in building modern electric infrastructure and exploring new avenues for collaboration between the two parties.
To recall, a delegation from China’s Dongfang Electronics Corporation visited Azerbaijan’s liberated territories on January 16, following meetings in Baku. Led by Deputy General Director Shudong Cao, the visit focused on discussing the modernization of Azerbaijan's electric power infrastructure and potential collaboration in the energy sector.
The delegation toured Fuzuli and Hadrut, learning about ongoing reconstruction projects. Their visit builds on prior discussions held during the COP29 conference in Baku, where Azerishiq and Dongfang Electronics explored cooperation opportunities.
The visit also included a tour of Dongfang’s production facilities, showcasing advanced technologies like smart meters and transformers. The visit concludes on January 19.
