South Korea to cooperate with Russia in Arctic for trade
South Korea is ready to cooperate with Russia in the Arctic region after the end of the conflict in Ukraine, according to South Korea’s Foreign Minister Cho Hyun.
The Arctic region offers new trade opportunities. Cho Hyun added that the republic's government is ready to resume cooperation after the Ukrainian crisis is resolved, TASS reports, citing the minister.
Korea does not intend to impose new sanctions against Russia or sever diplomatic relations with Moscow.
Hyun stated the Republic of Korea understands that the situation in Ukraine is of great importance to European countries, and Seoul is closely monitoring the actions of European countries regarding sanctions against Russia.
"We have no intention of imposing additional sanctions or cutting off communications," he said.
