SpaceX launches 21 Starlink satellites into orbit
A Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched a batch of 21 mini-satellites into orbit on Tuesday, adding to the global network of Starlink internet coverage. According to SpaceX, the deployment was confirmed shortly after the launch.
The launch took place from Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 12:39 AM Eastern Time. Approximately one hour after liftoff, the satellites separated from the rocket's second stage and entered their designated orbit, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The first-stage booster of the Falcon 9 rocket, which had previously flown 15 missions, successfully performed a controlled vertical landing on the drone platform "Just Read the Instructions" in the Atlantic Ocean.
Since May 2019, SpaceX has launched over 7,600 Starlink satellites as part of the project, with more than 6,900 currently in operational orbit. Some satellites have failed or deorbited. The system is designed to provide high-speed internet in regions where connectivity is unreliable, expensive, or unavailable.
