Suicide bombing at wedding in Pakistan’s northwest kills seven Photo/Video
At least seven people were killed and 25 others injured after a suicide bomber targeted a wedding ceremony in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on January 23.
The attack occurred at the residence of Noor Alam Mehsud, a pro-government community leader, in Dera Ismail Khan district. Reports said the attacker detonated an explosive vest among wedding guests, causing a powerful blast that led to the collapse of part of the building’s roof, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

Witnesses said guests were dancing at the time of the explosion, triggering panic and complicating rescue efforts. Images from the scene showed extensive damage, with bloodstains and debris scattered across the venue.
Among those killed was a former militant who had previously surrendered to authorities, along with several of his relatives. Local reports also confirmed the death of peace committee leader Waheedullah Mehsud, also known as Jigri Mehsud.
The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, where officials said several remain in critical condition. Security forces have sealed off the area as investigations continue.
