Taliban hails Moscow's decision to remove it from terror list
The Taliban has welcomed Russia's possible removal of it from the list of terrorist organisations, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the movement, has stated.
"Exclusion from the blacklist is a good step by Russia, and we welcome this measure. In terms of investment, Moscow's move will provide opportunities for any country to come here and invest," Mujahid said, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
The movement will establish relations with all countries of the world, he said.
On April 2, Russia confirmed that it is in ongoing talks with Afghanistan's ruling Taliban and is looking to remove them from Moscow's list of terrorist organizations. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that as neighbouring countries, it is necessary to maintain communication with them to resolve pressing issues. He further added that due to the Taliban being in power in Afghanistan, contact with them is maintained just like with anyone else.
