Three-day ceasefire between Ukraine, Russia comes to end
A three-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia brokered with US involvement ended overnight.
Shelling continued along the front line and in frontline areas throughout the three-day truce despite the ceasefire agreement, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Telegram channel Ukraine Now.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia was continuing military operations despite the ceasefire claims.
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had refrained from conducting new long-range strikes on Russian territory because Moscow had not launched massive attacks.
He made it clear that Kyiv would continue to follow a “tit-for-tat” approach in responding to Russian actions.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader warned that if Russia resumes large-scale strikes, Ukraine’s response would be “immediately felt.”
Russia also accused Ukrainian forces of carrying out drone and artillery strikes against its military positions and civilian targets despite the ceasefire arrangement.
The Ministry of Defence said Ukraine attacks targeted areas in Crimea, as well as Russia’s Belgorod, Kursk, Kaluga, and Rostov regions, and the Krasnodar territory.
