Top US official says not "right" for Israel to occupy Gaza long-term

The United States does not believe that it makes sense for Israel to occupy Gaza for a long time, Jake Sullivan, national security adviser to the US President stated, according to Gazeta.ru.

"We don't think it is right for Israel to occupy Gaza over the long term," Sullivan said at the press conference during a visit to Israel.

The adviser to US President Joe Biden also noted that Israeli authorities have no long-term plan to occupy Gaza, they are going to hand over the administration of Gaza to the Palestinians.
