Trump: China agreed not to send weapons to Iran
US President Donald Trump has said that China has agreed not to supply weapons to Iran, making the claim in a post on his social media platform Truth Social, where he also referred to broader geopolitical cooperation and tensions in the Middle East.
Trump wrote that “China is very happy that I am permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz,” adding that the move was intended “for them, also - And the World," Caliber.Az reports.
He further claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping would welcome him warmly during a future meeting, saying Xi would “give me a big, fat, hug when I get there in a few weeks,” and suggested that bilateral relations were improving through ongoing coordination.
According to Trump, China has agreed not to provide arms to Iran, a claim made without providing additional details or confirmation from Beijing.
“This situation will never happen again,” Trump added, framing the development as part of broader efforts to reduce tensions in the region.
He also stressed U.S. military strength in his remarks, stating: “BUT REMEMBER, we are very good at fighting, if we have to - far better than anyone else!!!”
