Trump claims diplomatic, economic measures ended eight wars in eight months
US President Donald Trump asserted that he successfully brought an end to eight conflicts in just eight months, relying primarily on “words” and tariffs rather than military force.
He made the comments while addressing American service members aboard the USS George Washington, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier stationed at the Yokosuka Naval Base in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Trump stated that in eight months he had ended eight wars, emphasizing that none of the presidents known to him had ended wars, and that many had started them. He listed conflicts including Kosovo and Serbia, Congo and Rwanda, Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, and added that just that month, the war in Gaza in the Middle East had been brought to an end.
He further highlighted a recent agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, brokered in Malaysia, as part of these diplomatic efforts.
Trump emphasized that millions of lives had been saved and that this was mostly accomplished with words, noting that the use of military force had been minimal.
According to the US president, tariffs and trade policies played a crucial role as instruments for conflict resolution, demonstrating a focus on economic and diplomatic tools over traditional military engagement.
