Trump says he to "have to do all the talking" in potential Putin-Zelenskyy talks
US President Donald Trump said he is prepared to take a central role in efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, citing deep animosity between the two countries' leaders.
“I want to stop it. I stopped seven wars. I thought this was going to be an easy one for me. But this turned out to be tough,” Trump said, referencing his past efforts in de-escalating global conflicts during, Caliber.Az reports via Fox News.
Commenting on the relationship between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump described the mutual hostility as "unfathomable."
When asked whether he believed the two leaders would be willing to engage in direct dialogue, Trump replied, “I don’t know, I think I am going to have to do all the talking. They hate each other.”
Despite the challenges, Trump indicated he expects progress soon.
“They hate each other so much they can’t breathe, so I’m going to have to get involved,” he said.
