Trump raises record $1.9 billion from sponsors
US President Donald Trump has received about $1.9 billion from corporate sponsors to fund political committees, construction initiatives at the White House, and preparations for the 250th anniversary of the country's independence.
Fundraising began with the inaugural ball on January 20, 2025, and continues through the MAGA Inc. committee and the nonprofit organisation Secure America, Axios reports.
About $350 million has already been raised for the construction of a new ballroom at the White House.
The next project could be the erection of an arch at the entrance to Washington, with an estimated cost of $100 million.
The sources note that the president’s fundraising activity sometimes “drives him to exhaustion.”
Two days after returning from a trip to Asia, Trump raised about $10 million while at his Mar-a-Lago residence.
“$10 million used to seem like a lot of money. Now it's like a ho-hum night,” sources said.
The outlet also warns that ahead of the US Independence Day anniversary, the president is likely to intensify his sponsor recruitment campaign.
Recent filings reveal that numerous major US corporations contributing to Donald Trump’s fundraiser are also significant recipients of federal contracts — for example, companies like Lockheed Martin, Microsoft and Amazon appear on both the donor list and government procurement records.
The planned “White House ballroom” project, which has already attracted hundreds of millions of dollars in private donations, has sparked renewed ethical scrutiny among lawmakers.
Many of the contributing companies are said to be simultaneously seeking or obtaining government contracts and regulatory advantages.
