Trump’s “make America great again” vision sparks over 1,000 staff firings
US President Donald Trump announced on the social media platform Truth Social that his administration is actively identifying and dismissing over a thousand appointees from the previous administration who no longer align with the current administration’s vision.
According to Trump, the personnel reshuffling is part of his broader agenda to "make America great again," Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Trump specifically mentioned that the purge would include high-profile figures such as former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, and former US Special Representative for Iran, Brian Hook.
In addition to these personnel changes, Trump made headlines by withdrawing the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, which was initially adopted in December 2015.
The agreement, signed by 186 countries including the US, aims to limit global temperature rise to below 2°C by the end of the century. Although the US had exited the agreement during Trump's first term in 2020, he justified the move by claiming the accord imposed excessive restrictions that threatened American businesses. Under President Joe Biden in 2021, the US rejoined the agreement.
In related political news, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán previously expressed his desire to "occupy" Brussels with Trump's support, underscoring the significant geopolitical shifts anticipated under Trump’s leadership.
