Turkish KAAN fighter jet successfully completes maiden flight UPDATED/PHOTO/VIDEO

Türkiye's national fighter aircraft KAAN successfully completed its maiden flight on February 21 morning.

All tests for the flight of KAAN, one of Türkiye's most important technology projects carried out by the aerospace company TUSAŞ, have been completed. On February 21, KAAN successfully completed its maiden flight, SavunmaSanayiST.com reported on X, according to Caliber.Az.

To date, tests have been carried out on the KAAN ejection seat, full-size static tests, inertial and static tests of control surfaces, avionics systems in the system integration laboratory, fuel tests and engine starting tests.

KAAN left the hangar and headed for the runway on March 17, 2023. Turkish engineers have been preparing it for the last 9 months for launch into the sky. The tests of his first flight mission were successful.

The KAAN fighter is highly effective at hitting ground, air, surface and underwater targets. It has high manoeuvrability, aiming accuracy and low radar signature. The combat aircraft will be equipped with an onboard radar and a modern optical-electronic location system.
