Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus granted observer status in TurkPA
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has been granted observer-state status in the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TurkPA).
Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop announced that the decision was taken unanimously on the morning of April 27 by the participants of the XII TurkPA Council meeting in Ankara, Anadolu Agency reported.
Shentop expressed hope for Türkiye's continued success in the international arena.
For his part, TRNC Parliament Speaker Zorlu Tore stressed the importance of the observer status in TurkPA, noting that, thanks to Ankara's support, Turkish Cypriots have successfully overcome all challenges related to the unfair political and economic embargo.
He expressed his readiness for Lefkosha's contribution to the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the Turkic world.
