Türkiye detains 90 suspects in countrywide crackdown on organised crime groups VIDEO
Turkish authorities have detained 90 suspects in coordinated operations targeting 11 organised crime groups across the country, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his X page.
Yerlikaya said the operations focused on criminal networks headed by key figures in Istanbul, Izmir, Kastamonu, Diyarbakır, Manisa, Tekirdağ, Van, Muğla, Karaman, Mersin, and Bitlis, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
The suspects are linked to activities involving large-scale financial crimes, with their accounts totalling approximately 4.4 billion Turkish lira ($112.3 million).
During the raids, authorities seized unregistered firearms, a substantial number of forged driver’s licenses, checks, bills of exchange, credit cards, as well as computers, mobile phones, and other digital evidence.
The Ministry emphasised its commitment to dismantling organised crime networks and safeguarding public security through continued enforcement efforts.
