Türkiye doubles gas production
The volume of natural gas production in Türkiye reached 807.3 million cubic meters at the end of 2023, which is 113 percent more than the previous year's figure (379.8 million cubic meters).
Production growth is associated with the active development of the Sakarya field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea, from where the blue fuel is supplied to the country's gas distribution system from September 2023, Azertac reports, citing the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority.
Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said earlier that by May this year gas production in the Black Sea will reach the level of 5 million cubic meters per day.
In general, at present, gas production is carried out in ten Turkish provinces. The first place is occupied by Zonguldag, which receives gas from the Black Sea, and the last place is occupied by Hatay, which produces 4,000 cubic meters per day.
