No one will attack if you have enough drones, says Baykar CEO VIDEO
Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of Turkish aerospace company Baykar, has said that mass production of unmanned aerial vehicles could play a key role in deterrence and reduce the likelihood of armed conflict.
During a presentation in Istanbul on unmanned aerial vehicles and kamikaze platforms, he emphasised that, if a country produces a sufficient number of drones, a potential adversary may refrain from aggression, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.
“If you make enough of them, nobody will attack you, that's what we think,” Bayraktar said, stressing that the company’s UAVs are designed as lightweight and efficient platforms.
He also explained that loitering munitions are developed in a way that does not require significant operational resources or extensive personnel training.
“In every exercise, you don't lose the kamikazes, you can recover them and hope you never use them, because they are in a sense also deterrence,” he said.
Bayraktar added that such systems can be considered one of the most effective tools of military deterrence.
