Turkmen president to pay first official visit to Türkiye

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay the first official visit to Türkiye on October 25-26.

During his visit, President Berdimuhamedov will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and exchange views on bilateral and multilateral cooperation issues, as well as current events, Caliber.Az reports citing the Turkmen media.

The two countries have huge and positive experience of large-scale cooperation.

The two fraternal countries and peoples who share a common history, language, religion and culture have special relations based on balanced mutual respect and cooperation proceeding from the “one nation, two states” principle. Türkiye and Turkmenistan also cooperate in many spheres, including foreign policy, trade, economics, culture and education.

The fraternal countries expressed their determination to promote cooperation to a new level thanks to the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation established on December 6, 2007.

Trade relations between Türkiye and Turkmenistan are developing rapidly. The goal is to increase trade volume, which exceeds $2 billion in 2021, up to $5 billion in the short term and up to $10 billion in the long term.

Turkmenistan stands out as the second country where Turkish companies operate most of all after Russia.
