Explosive debris sparks emergency response in Russia's Voronezh
Authorities in Russia’s Voronezh region have cordoned off an area in the southwest of the city after debris from ATACMS missiles shot down on November 18 was found scattered across a local gardening cooperative.
Regional governor Aleksandr Gusev announced the discovery in a post on his Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports.
“During an inspection of the Voronezh area following the downing of missiles on November 18, explosive elements were found in a gardening cooperative in the southwest of the city,” Gusev wrote.
One fragment was discovered approximately 150 metres from the nearest residential structures, while another was located beside a countryside house. The surrounding area has been sealed off as a precaution.
Sappers have determined that the explosive components will need to be neutralized on-site due to safety considerations.
