TV host reins in Armenian propagandist on Russia 1 VIDEO

20 August 2022 14:15

Armenian and Russian propagandists who sympathize with them have not felt the changes in the foreign policy of Moscow, which, obviously, has realised the prospect of close cooperation with Azerbaijan and Türkiye instead of blindly supporting Armenia in everything.

Armenian propagandists also regularly get into trouble during the shows on TV channels, in which until recently they played the main role in inciting anti-Azerbaijani and anti-Turkish sentiments, Caliber.Az reports with reference to Vestnik Kavkaza news and analytical agency.

President of the Russian Academy of Geopolitical Problems Arayik Stepanyan has recently made an unsuccessful attempt during Dmitry Kulikov’s show “Who is against?” on the Russia 1 to accuse the Turkish leader of lack of independence and unreliability. However, he was immediately interrupted by both host Dmitry Kulikov and TV and radio host Giorgi Saralidze.

The TV show was dedicated to the results of the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres to Lviv, where they held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Stepanyan tried to present the Turkish leader as a subordinate of Chief of the UK’s Secret Intelligence Service MI-6 Richard Moore, but Kulikov immediately told Stepanyan that he was distorting quotes and misinterpreting conjectures rather than facts.

“Speak more correctly!” the host said.

After Stepanyan tried to present Ankara's standard statements on Ukrainian events as some new anti-Russian attack, Kulikov put it more directly, saying: “What the hell! President Erdogan has been saying all this since February 24.” Then, the host proposed to stop making these insinuations against President Erdogan.

“He [President Erdogan] is a very difficult person, but if you agree with him, he keeps his word,” Saralidze quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement about President Erdogan.

“As for President Erdogan, I think that it was important for him to show that he is the only one of the world leaders who remained an intermediary between Moscow and Kyiv, only he can speak confidentially with both Putin and Zelenskyy. Of course, this is his political capital. He took on this mission from the very beginning of the special military operation and does not want to give it up,” Saralidze added.
