UAE intercepts 11 ballistic missiles, 27 drones in latest Iran attack
On March 30, 2026, the United Arab Emirates’ air defence systems intercepted 11 ballistic missiles and 27 drones launched from Iran, the UAE Ministry of Defence announced.
According to Caliber.Az, the ministry stated that since the beginning of Iran’s overt attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of:
- 425 ballistic missiles
- 15 cruise missiles
- 1,941 drones
The statement added that as a result of the attacks, 11 people have been killed: two UAE armed forces members performing their national duty, one Moroccan civilian contractor working with the armed forces, and eight foreign nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India.
Additionally, 178 people were injured with varying degrees of severity — from minor to severe. Among the wounded were citizens of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Türkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.
The UAE Ministry of Defence emphasised that it remains fully prepared to repel any threats and firmly stands against anything that endangers the country’s security, while protecting the sovereignty, stability, national interests, and capabilities of the UAE.
