UK PM heads to Washington to push for fair, lasting peace in Ukraine
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is travelling to Washington to meet U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, aiming to secure a fair and lasting resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
According to Caliber.Az, Starmer announced in a brief video statement posted on X, recorded on board his flight en route to meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Prime Minister stressed that the trip aims to ensure a long-term resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, underlining the importance of securing outcomes that serve the interests of all parties, including the United Kingdom.

"We have got to make sure there is peace, there is lasting peace. And that it is fair and that it is just. That is why I am travelling to Washington with other European leaders to discuss this face-to-face with President Trump and President Zelenskyy," Starmer said.
He also noted the impact of the conflict on British families, highlighting the broader national significance of achieving a just settlement.
