Ukraine appoints new deputy air force commander

On January 20, Ukraine’s Minister of Defence officially approved Colonel Pavlo Yelizarov as Deputy Commander of the Air Force of Ukraine's Armed Forces (AFU).

Pavlo Yelyzarov fought on the most difficult fronts, and his unmanned aerial systems unit, Lasar’s Group, has become one of the most effective within the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Caliber.Az reports, citing the AFU General Staff.

Thanks to Yelyzarov’s experience and innovative approaches, plans are in place to improve the “small air defence” system, enabling more effective countermeasures against Russian strike UAVs.
