Ukraine partisans disable Russian EW antennas in Crimea, open drone corridor
Agents of the Ukrainian-Crimean Tatar partisan movement ATESH carried out a sabotage operation on a Russian communications facility, disabling the antennas of electronic warfare systems located on a tower near the village of Honcharne, close to Sevastopol in occupied Crimea, the group’s press service said.
According to ATESH, the agents set fire to relay cabinets at the base of the tower, which housed power electronics and high-frequency cables, rendering the antennas at the top completely inoperative. Repairing such equipment is highly difficult, costly, and time-consuming.
“The enemy’s electronic warfare capabilities in the area have been completely neutralised. This has opened an air corridor for the effective deployment of Ukrainian Defence Forces’ drones,” the group stated.
The sabotage also compromised nearby Russian military facilities, which are now exposed to Ukrainian operations. Among these are the 58th Central Material and Technical Base, which stores protected communications equipment for the Black Sea Fleet, the backup command post of the Black Sea Fleet known as “Alsu-2,” and the 15th Separate Coastal Missile-Artillery Brigade.
