Ukraine's army chief sends his father to Russia for medical treatment
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, sent his 86-year-old father, Stanislav Prokofievich, to a private clinic in the Moscow region for treatment over the New Year.
According to SHOT, the pensioner’s condition worsened in late December when he was diagnosed with pneumonia. Syrskyi covered the cost of treatment and rehabilitation, approximately 1 million rubles (around $12,400), and also helped arrange transportation for his father from Vladimir to the Moscow region.
Stanislav Prokofievich spent New Year’s in the hospital ward. Medical staff stabilised his condition, treated his lungs, and prescribed ongoing supportive therapy. Doctors noted that the pensioner will no longer be able to walk.
Earlier, the commander’s father had undergone treatment in a Moscow-region clinic, was discharged in early November, and returned to Vladimir. In total, Oleksandr Syrskyi has reportedly paid around 6 million rubles (over $74,000) for his father’s treatment in Russian clinics.
