Ukraine says it downed 249 of 272 Russian drones in overnight attack PHOTO
Ukraine’s Armed Forces have said Russia launched a large-scale overnight drone assault involving 272 strike unmanned aerial vehicles targeting multiple regions across the country.
According to the Ukrainian military, the attack on the night of June 6 included “Shahed”-type UAVs, including jet-powered variants, as well as “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” “Banderole” loitering munitions, and “Parodia”-type decoy drones, Caliber.Az reports.

The air assault was repelled by Ukraine’s aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups, the Armed Forces said.
Preliminary data as of 08:00 local time indicated that air defence forces had shot down or neutralized 249 drones across northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Officials said 19 drones struck 11 locations, while debris from intercepted UAVs was reported at 13 separate sites.
“The attack is ongoing; there are several UAVs in the airspace. Please observe safety precautions!” the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in an update.
