Ukraine says key energy sites supporting Russian military hit photo
Ukraine’s General Staff reported that four key facilities in Russia’s oil refining sector were struck during overnight operations on April 18, as part of efforts to weaken Russia’s military-economic capacity.
According to the statement, Ukrainian Defence Forces targeted multiple strategic sites linked to the supply of the Russian military.
“As part of efforts to reduce the military-economic potential of the Russian Federation, on the night of April 18, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck four important facilities in Russia’s oil refining industry at once. Fires are raging at the Novokuybyshevsk and Syzran oil refineries in the Samara region, the oil terminal ‘RPK Vysotsk Lukoil-2’ in the Leningrad region, and the Tikhoretsk oil pumping station in the Krasnodar region. All of these facilities are involved in supporting the Armed Forces of Russia. The scale of the damage is being clarified. In addition, a number of fuel and lubricant storage sites belonging to the enemy were hit in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, particularly in the Mariupol area,” the statement said.
