Ukrainian Defence Forces together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out an overnight strike on Novorossiysk, targeting an oil-loading terminal and a large landing ship.

According to the sources, operatives of the SBU’s “Alpha” special operations unit, jointly with Ukraine’s security and defence forces, used long-range drones to hit several military and logistical facilities at the Novorossiysk seaport in Russia’s Krasnodar region, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing SBU sources.

The attack reportedly struck infrastructure at the oil terminal — including loading stands and manifolds — as well as positions of S-300/S-400 air defence systems.

Preliminary information also indicates damage to a Project 1171 large landing ship moored at the naval base.

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) suspended cargo operations following the drone strike, after the administrative building of its marine terminal near Novorossiysk sustained damage.

“Following the overnight UAV strike on the Novorossiysk municipality, the administrative building of the CPC’s Marine Terminal was hit by fragments from the drone’s warhead. The main control centre of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium — which oversees the Tengiz–Novorossiysk system in Russia and Kazakhstan — is located in Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka,” the CPC press service said.

There were no casualties, as staff had been evacuated to shelters immediately after an air-raid alert was declared.

Earlier, reports confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the SBU had damaged an oil terminal and a landing ship in the overnight drone attack on Novorossiysk.
