Kazakh delegation visits Kabul to strengthen trade, economic cooperation PHOTO

20 June 2026 14:44

A high-level Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin has arrived in Kabul for talks aimed at expanding trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.

According to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the visit will feature the Afghan-Kazakh Trade and Economic Forum, as well as an exhibition showcasing Kazakh products and goods in the Afghan capital, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media

The visit is focused on strengthening bilateral economic ties, increasing trade cooperation between private-sector businesses in both countries, and promoting Kazakh exports in the Afghan market.

While Kazakhstan has not formally recognised the Taliban government, it has maintained limited cooperation with Afghan authorities in recent years.

In June 2024, Kazakhstan removed the Taliban from its list of terrorist organisations.

Taliban officials have stated that Kazakhstan has expressed interest in expanding cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade, investment, and economic development.
