Bayraktar TB3 drone conducts first laser-guided missile strike in land-based test

Türkiye's Baykar has carried out a new weapons test of its Bayraktar TB3 unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), successfully striking a land target with a laser-guided missile for the first time, the company said.

The test involved firing a CIRIT missile produced by Roketsan using a single-round pod, in what Baykar described as an evaluation of the platform’s short-range strike capability, The Defense Post reports. 

According to the company, the demonstration was intended to assess the UCAV’s ability to engage time-sensitive targets at distances beyond the reach of its smaller smart micro-munitions.
