A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Russia’s far eastern Kamchatka region on Saturday (June 20) morning, according to seismologists.
The tremor hit Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, with the epicentre located around 140 kilometres east-south-east of the city, In Space reported. The quake originated at a depth of approximately 35 kilometres.
Authorities have not reported any immediate damage or casualties.
