Ukraine to be able to import more electricity from Europe
The European energy association ENTSO-E has increased the allowable volumes of electricity imports to Ukraine.
It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of Ukrenergo.
"Ukrenergo and ENTSO-E have increased the technical capabilities for importing electricity to Ukraine. Now it will be possible to import up to 1,050 MW of power from the Continental Europe zone to the Ukraine/Moldova block, which is 200 MW more than before,” the company said.
Ukrenergo adds that over the next weeks, operators of the Continental European transmission system ENTSO-E will consider a further increase in capacity for electricity imports to Ukraine.
The company noted that the decision to gradually increase electricity imports was made back in June last year. Then the throughput was only 100 MW.
