Ukrainian Defence Ministry: AFU reach impressive progress in Black Sea
The Ukrainian military is making progress in the Black Sea.
The Russian fleet was pushed back from the coast of Ukraine for more than 100 kilometers, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to the country's Defence Ministry.
To regain control of the northwestern part of the Black Sea, Russian troops decided to change tactics. To this end, they have deployed Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems in Crimea and Kherson Oblast, and are deploying additional forces on Snake Island.
There is also a possibility of landing troops on the Odessa coast and the threat of missile strikes on Ukraine. Russian forces have begun to use obsolete anti-ship missiles more frequently to target ground targets.
"This shows that the Russian Federation used a significant amount of modern missile weapons, and is forced to use obsolete types of missiles, the stocks of which are enough to strike our territory," the Ukrainian Defence Ministry said in a statement.
In addition, about 30 Russian ships and submarines continue to block navigation.
Since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has struck nine civilian ships, one of which sank. As a result, two sailors were killed.
