Ukrainian PM calls on West to provide Kyiv with means to counter drones
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has called on the West to provide Kyiv with air defence systems and means to counter drones.
He said this in an interview with the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
He noted that earlier the Ukrainian army received the first IRIS-T system. According to Shmyhal, Kyiv expects that a new batch of ammunition and air defence will arrive in November. At the same time, Germany stated that deliveries of three more IRIS-T systems would be only in 2023.
The Ukrainian prime minister said that the Russian army is resorting to kamikaze drones, which must be hit. In this regard, Kyiv asks for the provision of special equipment to counter drones, the politician added.
Among other goods urgently needed by Kyiv, Shmyhal named generators, heaters and equipment for water supply. According to him, Germany sent 200 generators on October 19.
